Refund Policy


1. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are issued when:

  • A return is approved and received
  • An item is faulty or not as described
  • An order is cancelled within the legal cooling-off period

2. Refund Process

  • Returned items are inspected upon receipt
  • Once approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method

3. Timeframes

  • Refunds are processed within 5–10 working days after receiving the return
  • Payment providers may take additional time to complete the transaction

4. Partial Refunds

We may issue partial refunds if:

  • The item is returned used or damaged
  • Parts or packaging are missing

5. Non-Refundable Costs

  • Original delivery charges are non-refundable (unless item is faulty)
  • Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise

6. Failed Deliveries

If delivery fails due to incorrect address details:

  • Additional shipping charges may apply
  • Refunds may be reduced to cover costs incurred

Thank you for shopping with West Coast Outboards. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.


1. Order Cancellation

Before Dispatch
Orders can be cancelled provided they have not yet been dispatched.
Please contact us as soon as possible via your order.

  • If the order has not been shipped, a full refund will be issued.

After Dispatch
If your order has already been shipped:

  • You may still cancel under your 14-day cooling-off period (in line with UK consumer law).
  • The item must be returned in accordance with our returns policy.
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

2. Returns

Change of Mind
You may return an item within 14 days of delivery if:

  • The item is unused
  • It is in its original packaging
  • It is in resalable condition

You must notify us within 14 days of receiving the item.

Please note:

  • Return postage is paid by the buyer
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
If your item is:

  • Faulty
  • Damaged in transit
  • Not as described

Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with details and photos.

We will:

  • Offer a replacement, repair, or full refund
  • Cover return postage where applicable

Return Process

To return an item:

  1. Contact us via your order on West Coast Outboards
  2. Provide your order number and reason for return
  3. Wait for return instructions before sending the item

⚠️ Items returned without prior contact may not be accepted.


3. Exchanges

We offer exchanges where possible.

  • Please contact us before returning an item
  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability
  • If unavailable, a refund will be issued

For change-of-mind exchanges:

  • The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs

4. Non-Returnable Items

Unless faulty, we do not accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Used or installed parts
  • Electrical components that have been fitted
  • Custom or special-order items
  • Items sold as “spares or repair”

5. Refunds

  • Refunds are processed once returned items are received and inspected
  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method
  • Please allow 5–10 working days for processing

6. Important Notes

  • Items must be returned securely packaged
  • We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit
  • Proof of postage is strongly recommended
